After the exhibition of French drawings from the Darmstadt Museum in fall 2007, the Musée du Louvre is pursuing its presentation of drawings from foreign museums. In 2008, the Budapest Fine Arts Museum lent to the Louvre over 70 sheets from its remarkable collection of Nordic drawings.
This selection of 16th-century drawings, very well represented in Budapest and little-known in France, provides insight into the rich and subtle nature of this difficult and long-overlooked art.
