The exhibition “Pierre Boulez. Œuvre: Fragment” broaches aspects of the aesthetic autonomy of the sketch and its evolution in the modern era. Drawing parallels between graphic, literary and musical works of the 19th and 20th centuries, part of the exhibition examines the methodology of the creative act and questions the very process of the genesis of a work. It presents, among others, the works of Ingres, Cézanne, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso, Wagner, Stravinski and Mallarmé, with Pierre Boulez’s manuscripts serving as a running thread.
