Adrien Gœtz, editor-in-chief of Grande Galerie. Le Journal du Louvre, chose five hundred works from the museum collections, presented theme by theme to encourage readers and visitors to move from one department to another through the ages. The encyclopedic Louvre revealed in this book, through what are often original face-to-face encounters, also features works from Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greco-Roman Antiquity, alongside Islamic Art and European Art up until the mid-19th century.
